The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop their mathematics knowledge and skills in algebra, trigonometry, and using functions as a unifying theme. Concepts will include a better understanding of graphs, polynomial and rational functions. An introduction of topics will include trigonometric and circular functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, and probability.
Algebra 1
Algebra 1 is a foundational high school mathematics course focusing on algebraic expressions, linear equations, functions, and quadratic relationships. Students learn to model real-world scenarios, solve systems of equations, analyze data, and manipulate polynomials, building essential skills for advanced mathematics. The course emphasizes understanding functions (linear, exponential, quadratic) and their graphs
Algebra 2
Algebra 2 is an advanced course using hands-on activities, applications, group interactions, and the latest technology. Students will learn about polynomials, quadratic equations, linear, nonlinear, exponential and logarithmic functions, sequences, probability and statistics, and inequalities. Throughout the course, these mathematical concepts are applied to everyday occurrences to demonstrate how the world around us functions. Interactive examples help guide students’ journeys through customized feedback and praise. Students have opportunities to work with their peers on specific lessons.
College Algebra

Geometry
A high school geometry course focuses on the study of shapes, sizes, positions, and spatial reasoning, covering topics like parallel lines, congruence, similarity, trigonometry, and coordinate geometry. Students learn to construct logical arguments, theorems, and geometric proofs while analyzing polygons, circles, and 3D shapes.
Statistics
The Probability and Statistics course is designed to introduce the methods used in the field of applied statistics. It relies extensively on real-world situations, critical analysis, and interpretation of graphs and data. Students will be expected to analyze and write detailed descriptions and interpretations about graphs, data, and procedures. The major focus of this course is to provide students with experience in using the computer to solve problems that can be set up as a mathematical model.
Pre-Calculus
Precalculus acts as a bridge between Algebra II and Calculus, focusing on deep study of functions, trigonometry, and analytical geometry. The Key topics in this course include polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions, along with their graphs, transformations, and applications. Students often cover sequences, series, conic sections, vectors, and an introduction to limits
Calculus
Calculus is a foundational college-level mathematics course focusing on the study of continuous change, limits, derivatives, and integrals. It enables solving problems involving instantaneous rates of change and computing areas/volumes of irregular shapes. This course includes material on functions, limits, continuity, the derivative, anti-differentiation, the definite integral, and techniques of integration.
Regular Chemistry
This course provides an introduction to the study of matter and the changes it undergoes; and an introduction to the nature and combinations of matter: from the sub-atomic to molecules and compounds. Students learn about atomic theory, the Periodic Table, bonding, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, gases, and acids and bases.
Honor Chemistry
This course is a more accelerated version of the standard-level course, and topics are covered in greater depth. After an introduction to measurement and matter, students learn about the development of atomic theory, how matter is organized on the Periodic Table, ionic and covalent bonding, liquids and solids, and chemical reactions. Then, the course draws on mathematics to study stoichiometry, gases, thermochemistry, kinetics, equilibrium, rate of reaction, and acids and bases.
AP Chemistry
Following the topics and depth of study required by the Advanced Placement Exam, this course is the equivalent of the general chemistry course taken during the first college year. The emphasis is on thinking conceptually about chemical principles at the molecular level in addition to classical chemical problem-solving. New topics not covered in a first-year chemistry course include thermodynamics, kinetics, and advanced topics in equilibrium. Aimed at preparing the student for the AP exam, the course includes lectures, discussions, and lab sessions appropriate to the course.
Physical Science is designed to serve as a foundation for other high school courses, especially chemistry and physics. Physics units include Newton’s 3 laws of motion, forces, scientific definitions of work and power, momentum, conservation and conversions of energy, relationships between electricity and magnetism, and wave phenomena and behavior (including characteristics and calculations) including electromagnetic and sound waves. Chemistry units include composition and classification of matter, history of atomic structure up to present day model, learning the periodic table to include, but not limited to: all chemical symbols, patterns, trends and isotopes, chemical bonding, compound naming, and chemical reactions.
Regular Physics
These courses present a study of the theories and laws governing the interaction of matter, energy, and the forces of nature. Subjects include measurements, kinematics, energy, power, sound, heat, wave characteristics, light, electricity, and magnetism.
AP Physics

AP Biology
The AP Biology course is an introductory college-level biology course. Students cultivate their understanding of biology through inquiry-based investigations as they explore the following topics: evolution, cellular processes, energy and communication, genetic information transfer, ecology, and interactions.

Honor/Regular Environmental Science
Environmental science is an extremely broad and multidisciplinary field that extends well beyond addressing questions related to the structure and function of the natural environment by chemists, biologists, physicists, and geologists. The human population, including its cultures and societies, is a dominant force on Earth; hence, disciplines of the social sciences and humanities are integral to understanding the human influences on the environment and essential for providing solutions to negative impacts that effect human health and sustainability of natural resources. This course will define the ecosystem concept, explore the role of the human population as a driving force for environmental change, detail specific problems concerning the environment and human health consequences, and overview various means of solving environmental problems and maintaining sustainability. Overall, students should gain appreciation for the roles of sound science and personal stewardship in sustainability of Earth’s finite resources.
AP Environmental Science (APES)
The AP Environmental Science course is designed to be the equivalent of a one-semester, introductory college course in environmental science, through which students engage with the scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies required to understand the interrelationships within the natural world. The course requires that students identify and analyze natural and human-made environmental problems, evaluate the relative risks associated with these problems, and examine alternative solutions for resolving or preventing them. Environmental science is interdisciplinary, embracing topics from geology, biology, environmental studies, environmental science, chemistry, and geography.
